The rebars are unlikely to fail provided that they are not notched and that the bending radius is at least twice their diameter.\\n(2) Carbonate stress corrosion cracking (CSCC) of rebars in ASR concrete is likely to occur if the concentration of the carbonate around bending part of rebars is in the range 1.5 mol/L?2.0 mol/L. The cracks of CSCC occurred in a rebar consist of both transgranular and intergranular cracks. The cracks of CSCC were identical to those of rebars failed in the ASR concrete of actual structures. \\n(3) The fatigue life of pressure-welded rebars in concrete is 1.8 to 4.0 times greater than that of pressure-welded bars in air.
