This article describes transcription factors and binding DNA sequences in yeast mating-type expression control. The yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae is repressively regulated by the transcription factor Mat2 to regulate mating-type expression. The pathogenic yeast Candida albicans is actively regulated by the transcription factor Mata2 to regulate mating-type expression.
