We proposed experiments using vial containers to observe a solid - liquid reaction and an oxidation-reduction reaction. Because the vial container of various volumes was commercially available, these experiments were performed in the container of 20 ml. The first content was that change of color of methylene blue was observed in lemon tea and vegetable juice. When the sample and methylene blue were mixed in an alkali solution, the color of the solution with the tea was changed from orange to blackish brown. The change of the color in the solution was repeated 10 times in 10 s at least. Next, the experiment that sodium acetate trihydrate was supersaturated was carried out in vial container. Since the vial container with cap was convenient to the operation of heating-cooling, the repetitive task was rapidly achieved. Therefore, this system was suitable for observation of the solution crystallization. The merits of the containers were a low cost and easily handled. \nConsequently, the vial containers could be applied for the chemical experiments. |
