| 内容記述 | The purpose of this research is to clarify the relationship between brick size and\nmasonry technology. In Japan, several types of bricks were distributed, but it has not been\nclarified how the shape difference had affected the masonry technology.\nIn this research, we analyzed the relation between transition of brick size and the masonry\ntechnology in Gunma prefecture, where brick buildings built from the early Meiji period\nthrough the Showa period still exist.\nThis study is investigating various types of buildings such as architecture, civil engineering\nstructures, and other structures. Therefore, it is also possible to understand regional\nfeatures of the surveyed sites.\nIn conclusion, the brick buildings in Gunma prefecture did not change the masonry method\naccording to the dimensions of the bricks, but it was found they were constructed adjusting\nthe joint thickness. There is a high possibility that the masonry method could be selected\nwithout being influenced by the brick size. | |||||||||
